There will be an opportunity for Symposium participants to experience the world-famous Adam’s River sockeye run in the interior of British Columbia immediately after the IYS Synthesis Symposium concludes!
We are finalizing the accommodation and transportation details and will provide more information once it becomes available. We can confirm at this stage that there will be a fee to participate in this trip which will cover the cost of transportation over the course of the 3 days and may include lunch on the day of the Adam’s River visit. It will be up to the participants to book their own accommodation; however, we will secure a special room rate with a hotel near the Adam’s River with the idea that all participants will stay at the same venue.
See below for the preliminary itinerary:
Friday, October 7th
A bus will take participants from downtown Vancouver to a hotel near the Adam’s River , with one or two stops at scenic locations on the way (7–8-hour drive).
Saturday, October 8th
A bus will take participants from the hotel to the Adam’s River for an educational tour of the area which will take most of the day. A bus will take participants back to the hotel in the afternoon/evening.
Sunday, October 9th
A bus will take participants from the hotel back to downtown Vancouver with one or two stops on the way (7–8-hour drive).
If you are interested in participating in this trip, please fill out the web form by July 29 below so we can plan accordingly. If we get enough interest in the trip and it proceeds as planned, spaces will be given on a first come, first served basis.
