Fish Friends

Description

Fish Friends is a program run through the Maine Council of the Atlantic Salmon Federation. For the first time ever our cub scouts have partnered with the YMCA to raise Atlantic Salmon from eggs to the time they are ready to be released in a permitted spot. We are so excited and have just received our 200 eggs on 2/15/19. The babies have EYES! We are educating the youth about Salmon and endangered species, how they became endangered and how, even as kids, they can help. At the end, with a successful tank we will be traveling to the Maine Forest and Logging Museum to release. Hopefully each kid can have their own baby salmon in a cup to place in the waters.
